[Stupid dog, don't make me tell you twice.] Slacking off during the endless meeting, I kept my phone perfectly concealed under the desk and fired off a final ultimatum to my online boyfriend.

A sharp vibration hit my palm. [Right now? I'm in a meeting.] A soft scoff escaped my lips. My thumbs flew across the glass. [Bad dog.

You dare disobey your Master?] The typing bubbles hovered on the screen, freezing for a few agonizing seconds. [Fine…] I sat there, fully primed to receive an extremely compromising photo, when my coworker abruptly elbowed me hard in the ribs. "Holy shit!

The boss forgot to disconnect his Bluetooth casting before hitting the restroom! This is wild!" My head snapped up.

My eyes locked onto the massive projector screen at the front of the conference room.

Glaring down at the entire room, magnified in terrifying high definition, was the exact same chat thread currently open on my phone.

The projector's harsh glare washed over my features. I stopped breathing.

Chapter 1 Slacking off in the middle of a meeting, I fired off a text to my online boyfriend. [Let me see the merchandise.] The typing bubble popped up… then vanished. Nothing.

Something was off. Normally, he replied in a split second, no matter where he was or what he was doing. I typed another message. [Cat got your tongue again?] Still nothing.

My brow furrowed. He was never this painfully shy before.

Not when he spent every day calling me "Master." Whether he was rock hard or totally drained, all it took was one word from me and he would obediently hop on a video call.

My patience snapped. [Stupid dog, do not make me tell you twice.] He replied instantly. [Right now? I am in a meeting.] I hid a wicked smirk behind my hand.

That only made it hotter. [Bad dog.

Are you actually daring to disobey your Master?] A heavy pause hung in the chat. [Fine…] I was practically vibrating in my seat waiting for the picture to load when my coworker slammed her elbow into my side.

I nearly jumped out of my skin and slapped my phone facedown on the desk. She was staring dead ahead at the projector screen, her eyes wide with glee. "Holy shit!

The boss forgot to disconnect his Bluetooth casting before hitting the restroom! This is wild!" She shook her head. "Tsk tsk. I never would have guessed.

The boss is secretly a total freak behind closed doors." I snapped my head up.

Glaring down at the entire room, magnified in terrifying high definition, was the exact same chat thread currently running on my phone.

The conference room went dead silent around me. I had texted the boss. [User sent an image.] My phone buzzed against the wood. The giant screen up front instantly went black.

But in that split second before it died, I caught a glimpse of it. The outline was… impressive. My coworker dropped her jaw. "Holy… damn.

I am kind of swooning." I pressed my hand flat over my phone, absolutely terrified to look.

I swallowed hard, my throat feeling like sandpaper. "Wh—when did the boss go to the restroom?" She gave me a wicked grin. "Just a second ago.

He looked super rushed after his phone buzzed, practically ran out." She snickered. "What a good, obedient little dog." I was paralyzed.

I left my phone facedown on the desk and played dead. When Harrison walked back in, there was a noticeable tenting in the front of his slacks.

His face was carved from ice. "Meeting resumes." My eyes darted everywhere but him. I wanted to crawl under the desk and disappear. For the next hour, Harrison radiated pure murder.

He picked up his phone no less than fifty times. Every time his thumbs stopped moving, my phone vibrated against the desk. The buzzing rattled right through my ribs.

It was not loud. Just loud enough for me to hear.

I had no idea how he was "disciplining" me in those messages, but just thinking about it made me want to dig a hole and bury myself alive. I forced myself to steal a glance at him.

This was Harrison. The undisputed icebox of the entire company. He never smiled, never made small talk, and was completely devoid of human warmth.

One sweep of his eyes was enough to drop the room temperature by ten degrees. And I actually dared to demand he let me "see the merchandise"? I actually called him a "stupid dog"?

Before I could even finish the thought, that freezing gaze snapped onto mine. "Quinn." The second my name left his lips, my heart crashed against my ribs. "Your proposal is entirely worthless.

Rewrite it tonight. I want ten brandnew concepts in my inbox by eight o'clock tomorrow morning." Ten concepts? By tomorrow morning? He was absolutely retaliating.

This was a targeted, personal strike disguised as corporate discipline. Midnight crept closer. The office was completely deserted, leaving only me and Harrison.

The entire floor was as silent as a morgue. The only light bleeding into the hallway came from his office. I risked a peek through the glass.

He sat at his desk, his brows locked in a heavy frown. He had been staring dead at his phone for two straight hours. My phone was still buzzing on my desk.

One sharp vibration after another. Like a ticking time bomb.

Chapter 2 Finally gathering my courage, I cracked open the chat window that had been sitting at "99+" unread messages. [What is wrong?

Not satisfied?] [I can take another one.] [Or you could come see for yourself.] A heavy pause.

Then the final message floated up. [It's not that small.] I stared at the screen, a loud ringing filling my ears for three solid seconds. What did that mean?

So the reason he hadn't left… was because he was waiting for me to come look in person? My heart hammered against my ribs.

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught the contact name pinned at the top of the chat. [Master's Bad Dog] My fingers turned to ice. I quickly tapped into the profile page.

It was my alt account. Profile picture, ID, linked phone number. All a perfect match. My brain shortcircuited. Wait… I didn't text the wrong person?

So, Harrison, my ruthless, emotionally dead iceberg of a boss, was the exact same stupid dog I had been dating online for three months?

The one who chased me around begging to call me "Master"? And… He had absolutely no idea it was me.

Before I could process it, the phone buzzed again. [Baby, why are you ignoring me?] [Are you that disappointed in me?] My thumbs hovered over the keyboard, completely frozen.

Before I could even formulate a reply, the next message hit. [Master, please punish me. Just do not ignore me. I can't take it.] I slammed the phone facedown on the desk.

Heat radiated off my cheeks, burning fiercely. How was this even possible? The untouchable Harrison, who never looked anyone in the eye, was my online boyfriend?

The phone rattled a harsh, continuous rhythm against the wood. Incoming call: [Bad Dog].

I snatched the device, diving completely under my desk, and slammed the decline button. [Baby…] I peeked through the glass of his office.

He was staring at his screen, his brows knitted tightly together. He wasn't looking my way.

I dragged in a deep breath and fired back a text. [I saw the picture.] Instant reply. […Are you satisfied?] Staring at those three words, the memory of his arrogant face demanding ten new proposals flashed in my mind.

A wicked urge spiked in my chest. [Average.] I hit send and looked up. His broad shoulders instantly went rigid.

He slowly lowered the phone, as if absorbing a devastating physical blow. A full, agonizing minute passed before he typed back. [I can get enhancement surgery.

Just please do not ignore me.] [Or Master can come inspect the goods in person. The lighting in the photo was bad… and my camera skills are not great.] I almost choked on a laugh.

Harrison, look how the mighty have fallen. I was just getting ready to tease him some more when the phone buzzed again. Incoming voice call.

Without a second thought, I declined it again.

Immediately, a third message popped up. [Master… please do not ignore me.] [I can't handle this.] I stared at the screen, my fingers hesitating.

Before I could figure out a reply, a fourth message came through. An audio clip. The office was dead silent. I didn't dare hit play.

But some twisted instinct made me look up at Harrison's office again. He was sitting with his back to me, the phone pressed tight against his ear.

His shoulders were trembling slightly. Through the glass door, I barely caught the sound. It was muffled, thick, like he had just been crying. "Master… I'm so good.

Please don't throw me away." Chapter 3 My fingers flinched away from the glass.

I stared down at the audio clip resting on my screen, my heart hammering so hard it threatened to crack my ribs. He was actually crying.

The man ten years older than me, the demonic boss who slashed entire departments without blinking, was currently sobbing and begging for his Master.

I didn't dare listen to it again. I jammed my phone onto silent mode, shoved my things into my purse, and fled the office. We met on a wildly popular coop shooter game.

I played the combat medic, responsible for keeping the entire squad breathing. He played the assault class, but he was absolute trash.

He charged in without cover, rushed the enemy with one percent health, and chucked all his skills straight into the wall.

I flipped my mic on and flamed him until the lobby went dead silent. Finally, he choked out a single line: "Sorry. First time playing." My annoyance cracked.

I ended up carrying this disaster of a player all night long. Thirty matches. The exact opposite of a win streak. I let out a harsh laugh over the headset. "Buddy, just uninstall.

This game isn't for you. Go play a toddler game." The words barely left my mouth.

The premium battle pass and every single limitededition cosmetic pack instantly dropped into my inventory. His voice came through the mic, icy and flat. "Sorry.

Just a small token of appreciation." My mouth instantly curled into a sweet smile. "But hey, on second thought… this game is basically braindead anyway.

I will carry you from now on~" From that day on, I reeled him in hook, line, and sinker, dropping "baby" and "hubby" in every other sentence.

Of course, he was still a total brick wall.

I teased him during a match. "Call me baby, or I am ditching you to heal the sniper~" Dead silence stretched over the voice chat for forty agonizing seconds.

Finally, he forced out, "…Pick a different word." I smirked. "How about… Master?" Silence again. I intentionally muted my mic and ran off to follow our sniper across the map.

He just stood there in the spawn zone, looking like a little kid put in timeout. Finally, he keyed his mic in the allchat. "…M—Master.

Come with me." His voice was thick and muffled, like he was on the verge of tears. After that, whenever he screwed up ingame, I punished him.

I made him write apology letters, forbade him from taking bathroom breaks, and banned him from texting me for a full twentyfour hours. He always broke.

He would spam call me a hundred times, his voice hitching. "Master, I finished the apology. I didn't go to the bathroom… Please do not ignore me.

I cannot go a whole day without texting you." He sounded exactly like a kicked puppy. But Harrison? He was a ruthless corporate dictator with zero shred of humanity.

There was a famous saying around the office: Harrison's time was money, and everyone else's time was garbage. He never checked his watch.

He only checked results. "Get this to me tonight" meant before the clock struck midnight. "I want to see this tomorrow morning" meant the proposal had better be sitting dead center on his desk by the time he sat down at 9:00 AM sharp.

If I was even sixty seconds late, he would pin me down in front of the entire department with a gaze completely stripped of warmth. His voice would be terrifyingly calm. "Redo it.

If it is not done today, do not bother leaving." The second office rumor: Harrison didn't have a pulse. His heart was forged from solid titanium.

Once, Bianca got stuck without an umbrella during a thunderstorm. She waited in the lobby for half an hour. He walked past and casually offered to drive her home.

Bianca was so moved she almost cried. The next morning, she got a message from the accounting department: "Mr. Harrison says the equivalent cab fare is thirty dollars.

Please Venmo him." He actually pulled that. Could a coldblooded bastard like that really be my disobedient little dog? Chapter 4 I suppose I had myself to blame.

As a seasoned player who never got attached, I made it a strict rule to never leave my real name online, let alone show my face.

I demanded the exact same anonymity from the guys I talked to.

So, up until this very moment, I had absolutely zero clue what my online boyfriend actually looked like or what his real name was.

By the time I stepped out of the shower, it was already 1:30 in the morning. [Bad Dog] was still spamming my phone.

The screen lit up over and over again in the dark bedroom, like a relentless electronic puppy that refused to sleep.

I let out a long sigh, scooped up the phone, and typed back: [Alright, alright, stop making a fuss. I am not throwing you away.

I was just swamped today… My bastard boss forced me to rewrite a dozen different proposals, and I was stuck working overtime until just now.] He instantly replied with an angry, footstomping sticker.

Right on its heels, an audio clip popped up. I hit play.

His voice was a chaotic mix of furious and fiercely protective, his words spilling out way faster than usual. "That bastard boss actually dared to make my baby work overtime until now?

A dozen different proposals?

Is he even human?" His tone grew dead serious, like a kid stepping up to defend his turf. "You don't do company time on your own dime!" "Baby, just tell me who he is!

I will go straight to your office and ambush him right now! I will give him a brutal reality check! I will
