[System: Mission: Stop the villain from feeding people to the fishes.] It was a perfectly good night. I was supposed to be at a party with hot guys, hosted by my best friend.
Instead, I got teleported to a pitchblack, freezing pier. I was officially bound to the ruthless, unhinged heir to the Vance empire. All thanks to the Redemption System.
Anytime he got the urge to do something evil, I was instantly summoned to his side. I stared at the man standing next to me.
A cold, wicked smirk played on his lips as he prepared to ruin someone's life. I ground my teeth together, pulled back my leg, and kicked him straight into the ocean.
Later that night. My third time being teleported right into his bedroom. I glared at him, drained of all patience. "Fine. Nobody sleeps." "I am going to stalk you.
Forever." He just smirked. He grabbed a tie and swiftly bound my wrists together. "Perfect.
Let's do something fun." [Me: ?] Chapter 1 I hid in the corner of a VIP lounge at the highsociety charity gala, halfasleep, arguing with the system in my head. [Me: Are you sure the villain will show up here today?] [System: Of course, Host.
You are already bound to him. Please complete today's mission ASAP: Stop the villain from poisoning everyone at the gala.] I sighed.
It was my third month transmigrating into a trashy billionaire romance novel titled Toxic Love: You Can't Escape.
I was supposed to be a doomed side character, but instead, I was living my best life as a filthy rich heiress. I woke up every day in my California king canopy bed.
My only job was counting my money. My ultimate goal was to grab my NPC parents, stay far away from the main characters' drama, and avoid getting myself killed.
But then, out of nowhere, I was bound to this Redemption System.
Whenever the unhinged villain of the story got the urge to do something evil, I would be teleported right to his side to stop him. If I failed the mission, I would be punished.
The plot had just reached Genevieve Kensington's birthday gala. The unhinged villain was about to cause absolute chaos, sending the entire high society into a panic.
The click of the door lock snapped me out of my thoughts. Several massive bodyguards in black suits filed into the room.
The man leading them wore a tailored black suit that hugged his lean waist. His skin was stark white, his features sharp and flawless.
In the dim light, the shadow of his hair fell over the high bridge of his nose. His narrow, arrogant eyes tilted upward at the corners.
My breath caught in my throat the second I saw that face. My bound target was Dominic Vance, the heir to the Vance empire, the ultimate billionaire dynasty.
The book described him as a pure psychopath. Raised by the old monster of the Vance family, he grew up into a coldblooded, ruthless monster himself. "Young Mr.
Vance, everything is arranged," a bodyguard said quietly.
Dominic leaned back on the sofa, all lazy arrogance. "Ah, the show is about to begin," he said, his deep, magnetic voice dripping with malice.
He lifted his gaze, a mocking smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. Then, his tone shifted. "But before we start, it seems we have caught a little mouse.
How entertaining." His predatory stare swept the room. My blood ran icecold in my veins.
He was smiling, but his eyes held nothing but hollow ice. "Little mouse," he said softly. "Are you coming out on your own, or do I have to drag you out myself?" Chapter 2 I took a deep breath.
My lungs expanded, forcing my racing heart to steady. He probably hadn't ordered his men to release the poison yet. All I had to do was stall.
That would buy me enough time to complete the mission.
I adjusted the mask on my face, stood up, and walked straight toward him. "I am here to make a deal with you." The bodyguards took the hint and immediately filed out of the room.
Dominic looked me up and down. Utter disgust flashed in his eyes. He let out a dark, mocking laugh. "Are you? You think you are worthy? Delusional much?
Take a look in the mirror." Before the last word left his lips, his long, bony fingers clamped down on my jaw. Pain shot through my bone. I thrashed wildly.
He pinned me in place effortlessly. His voice dropped to a deadly, gravelly whisper, sounding exactly like a venomous snake hissing.
He picked up a glass of wine from the table. "A little mouse delivering herself right to my doorstep.
Perfect timing to test the poison on you." He tilted the laced drink toward my mouth. I cursed this unpredictable psychopath in my head. The target was way too dangerous.
I summoned the cheat code from the system. Streaks of blinding white light shot out and wrapped tightly around his body.
The impact sent Dominic crashing backward onto the sofa, his body paralyzed. I snatched the glass of wine right out of his hand. He managed to rub his temples.
The system must have just dumped the truth about our bond straight into his brain. That mocking smirk returned to his lips. "How interesting. What a pathetic system.
Ridiculous." His eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. "Or rather, how do you want to die, you obnoxious little mouse?" My fists clenched hard. You are the rat here.
Your whole family is a bunch of rats. Knowing the system had him pinned tight, I lifted my leg and confidently planted my foot directly between his thighs.
I slapped his cheek hard, spacing out every single word. "You need to keep a low profile." He went dead silent.
A low, lazy chuckle finally rumbled from his chest. "Are you threatening me?" I scoffed. I took full advantage of the situation and pinched his cheeks roughly. "Young Mr.
Vance, you really do have a talent for being a boy toy." He lazily lifted his eyelids. A ghost of a smile touched his lips as he glared at me. "Thanks." My mouth twitched.
I would never understand how a psychopath's brain worked. I figured I had stalled long enough. That should count as stopping the poisoning.
Suddenly, chaotic screams erupted outside the door. Thud after thud echoed through the walls as bodies rapidly hit the floor.
The man in front of me still wore that intoxicating, wicked smile. "Fun. This is so much fun." The system's cold voice rang in my head. [System: Mission failed.
Fifty HP deducted.] My heart dropped. I mourned my precious health points.
I reached out and pinched his thin lips shut. "Shut up, you annoying jerk." I frantically bargained with the system in my head. [System: Host, there is one way to recover your HP after a failed mission.
Initiate intimate physical contact with the villain. The higher the intimacy, the more HP you get.] [Me: ?] I took a deep breath.
I looked down at the man I had just forcefed the laced wine. Chapter 3 Right now, Dominic couldn't move a muscle. His captivating eyes, however, held a deeply ingrained wickedness.
I leaned closer. Sure enough, a system notification popped up. HP increased. I gritted my teeth, ducked my head, and wrapped my arms around his neck.
I bit down on his pale pink lips. I pinched his waist hard. "Open," I commanded. He hissed in pain.
His gaze could have frozen hell over. "Don't you dare—" I swallowed the rest of his words. Only when the system chimed with a successful HP refill did I finally pull back.
I released him slowly and gave my honest review. "Terrible." His face darkened furiously. I milked the system for points and tried to stand up.
A heavy hand clamped down on my waist. Dominic had somehow broken through half of the system's paralysis. A sharp pain pierced my collarbone. The man bit me, hard and vicious.
I shoved him away. A sharp slap echoed in the room. A red handprint blossomed on his stark white cheek. He smirked. His tongue darted out, licking the blood off his lip.
His knobby fingers trembled slightly, whether from the system's restraint or pure rage, I couldn't tell. "Little mouse," he whispered. "Do not let me catch you again." I flashed him a peace sign, then slowly pressed down my index finger to flip him off.
Before he could fully regain his strength, I scrambled out of the room. Later, I lay in bed with a sheet mask on, staring at the purple mark on my collarbone in the mirror.
I cursed that bastard Dominic 10,086 times in my head. My phone buzzed. It was Tessa spilling the tea. [Tessa: Pip, have you heard the rumor?
The heir to the Vance empire is frantically searching for a woman. Everyone says he found his Cinderella. Some brave girls tried to pretend to be her.
He unleashed his vicious dogs on them, let them get chased around until they passed out from terror, and threw them out. It's terrifying.
Who has a death wish to provoke the grim reaper?] My right eye twitched. I selectively replied to her last text. [Me: Drinks tonight.
Party with hot guys.] I was just about to head downstairs when the housekeeper, Mrs. Jenkins, walked up. "Heiress, your father says we have a guest. A business partner.
He wants you to freshen up and come down." I nodded. My eye twitched again. I have a really bad feeling about this. "Mrs. Jenkins, who is it?" Mrs.
Jenkins gave me a knowing look. "The Vance family's boy. Young Mr.
Vance." [Me: …] If Dominic caught me now, with his twisted mind, I didn't even want to imagine the torture he had planned. I faked a stomachache and hid in my room.
The plan was to sneak out through the back garden wall and hit the bar. I slapped on a heavy smokey eye look—so dark my own mother wouldn't recognize me.
Then, I hauled myself to the top of the brick wall. I panted heavily, completely out of breath. I glanced down. I hadn't realized how high it was when I was climbing.
Vertigo hit me. In the pitchblack garden, I spotted a blurry silhouette standing under a tree.
A single, glowing red ember of a cigarette burned between his fingers. "Hey," I called out. "Can you help me?" Chapter 4 The figure stepped forward and crushed his cigarette.
He radiated a lazy, arrogant elegance. I met those captivating eyes. I immediately turned my head away. Why the hell was Dominic Vance in my back garden? He pursed his lips.
His voice was drawling, keeping up that fake gentleman act. "Well? Do you need some help, miss?" He probably did not recognize me from that night.
Just to be safe, I used a fake baby voice and played it cool. "No need. I am just admiring the moon." That intoxicating smile hung on Dominic's lips. He let out a flat hum.
Minutes ticked by. I was still stuck stiffly on top of the wall.
I ground my teeth together and glared at the man below. "Why are you still here?" Lazy amusement danced in his eyes. "Aren't you a bit demanding?
Are you the only one allowed to look at the moon?" I took a deep breath and called out to the system. "Do you think I could jump down and crush him to death?" The system stayed dead silent.
A sudden itch hit my ankle. A thick black bug crawled up my calf. Pure horror paralyzed me. I screamed. I lost my balance and pitched straight forward.
A deep, muffled groan rumbled beneath me. I had just used Dominic Vance as a human landing pad. Panic flooded my chest. "My bad. I slipped." I scrambled to get up.
Heavy hands clamped down on my waist, pinning me in place. His thumb rubbed slow circles against my bare skin. "Watch your hands!" His eyes darkened.
The curve of his lips deepened into a wicked smirk. "You are the one pinning me to the ground.
Anyone looking at this would think you are trying to take advantage of me." He let out a dramatic, heavy sigh. "I am going to scream for help." [Me: ?] I instantly slammed my hand over his mouth.
Footsteps approaching from a distance snapped me back to reality. I tore myself free from his grip and bolted.
As I sprinted away, I vaguely heard a bodyguard rush out of the shadows, gasping, "Young Mr. Vance!
Did she really just… use you as a cushion?" I didn't look back to see his expression, but I could almost feel the dark, twisted obsession in his drawl trailing after me. "Yes.
Next time, I am going to be on top." I made it to the bar. Still shaken, I downed two sweet cocktails back to back.
I sat back and ate the fruit a handsome golden retriever boy fed me. Hope surged in my veins. Life was beautiful again.
I walked out of the restroom, ready to head back and enjoy more pampering from my golden retriever boy.
The system's robotic voice shattered my peace. [System: Please stop the villain from feeding people to the fishes.] The world flipped upside down. I landed on a dark, desolate pier.
The thick stench of blood hung in the freezing air. I pulled my jacket tight and ducked behind a massive shipping container. Dominic stood at the edge of the water.
A cold, ruthless shadow passed over his eyes. He watched with pure amusement as several unconscious men dangled from ropes over the crashing waves.
A low, dark laugh vibrated in his throat. It chilled me straight to the bone. "The fishing game starts now." Chapter 5 I paused. This unhinged villain was full of sick ideas.
He loved playing his twisted games with his own rules. Purely to torture people. [System: Warning. Mission countdown: Thirty seconds.
Failure will result in a ninety percent HP deduction.] [Me: ?] "Trash system, am I on Temu? You are slashing ninety percent right off the top?" To save my own life, an idea hit me.
I ground my teeth and charged. I sprinted forward, lifted my leg, and kicked the man square in the ass. Splash. Straight into the freezing water. I slowly lowered my leg. Not bad.
Surprisingly firm. The surrounding bodyguards in black suits sucked in a sharp, collective breath. Time froze. The system went silent for a second. [System: Congratulations, Host.
Mission completed.] I exhaled a massive breath and spun around to run. The water churned and crashed against the pier.
A hand shot out of the dark waves, clamped around my ankle, and yanked. Freezing water swallowed me instantly. I couldn't swim.
I thrashed wildly and managed to grab the metal railing of the pier. A heavy hand gripped the back of my neck, pinning me against the concrete.
A low, dark voice whispered directly into my ear. "You are in my hands again." Dominic used his height and long legs to elegantly pull himself up onto the pier.
A terrified bodyguard rushed over with trembling hands to offer him a dry jacket. I clung to the railing, lifting one leg to climb up.
A single finger pressed hard against my forehead, shoving me backward. "A drenched little mouse," he drawled.
I gritted my teeth and forced a smile. "You bastard." He raised an eyebrow. The corner of his mouth curved up. "Music to my ears.
Keep going." I rolled my eyes. "Sick freak." I finally dragged myself onto the concrete, lying flat on my back like a dead fish. Dominic stared down at me.
Then, he bent over and scooped me up into his arms. I instinctively threw my arms around his neck so he wouldn't drop me. "What are you doing?" His lips curved into a wicked smirk.
He dragged out his words, sounding entirely justified. "I am a sick freak. And sick freaks should do freaky things." [Me: ?] The basement of the Vance mansion.
I stared down at the heavy iron chains locking my wrists and ankles. I had plenty of time to rethink my life choices.
The man standing in front of me flashed a twisted smile under the dim, flickering light. His stark white teeth glinted in the shadows.
He let out a low laugh. "Little mouse, you have ruined my plans time and time again. Today, you even stopped me from catching a traitor.
How exactly should I punish you?" A blatant death threat. I stared blankly at the ceiling and decided to just give up. "I am hungry. How about this. Get me some food.
Let me die on a full stomach." He went dead silent. A cold scoff escaped his lips.
The sheer ice in his voice was terrifying. "I am going to give you one chance to rephrase that." My eyes swept the room. Bloody glass jars lined the shelves.
The faint sound of a knife grinding against a whetstone echoed from the dark corner.
I reached down and pinched my own thigh hard, squeezing out a few fake tears. "Actually… I like you." Chapter 6 I blinked up at him. "Everything I did, it was all just to get your attention." Dominic rested his chin on his hand and gave me a lazy look.
Pure disgust flashed in his eyes. I cheered on the inside. Look at me, such a scheming, manipulative woman. I only approached you to seduce you.
Please, whatever you do, do not fall for it. Throw me out right now. His lips suddenly curved into a wicked smirk. His tone was a lazy drawl. "You like me? Fine." "Go take a shower.
I'll give you a chance." [Me: ??] I frantically screamed for the system in my head to save my life. This was not how the script was supposed to go. [System: Yawn.
Not related to the mission. Do not disturb the system.] Before I knew it, I was packed up and dumped straight into Dominic's bedroom. His bedroom matched him perfectly.
Black and grey tones. Gloomy and unhinged. "Come here. What are you standing there for?" I forced a tight smile. The man stood in front of me wearing a black bathrobe.
The firm, sexy lines of his muscles showed through the opening. He leaned casually against the edge of the bed.
His expression was a mix of dark amusement and pure malice. "Tell me, Miss Stanton. What exactly do you like about me?" I nodded solemnly. "Your face." Dominic went dead silent.
He suddenly closed the distance between us. His long fingers clamped around the back of my neck, giving a slow squeeze.
He grabbed my hand and pressed the untied belt of his bathrobe right into my palm. A dark, playful glint sparked in his eyes. "Here is your chance.
Let's see if you can handle it." What the hell was burning? Oh, it was him. Pure lust. The silk belt felt like scorching iron in my hand.
I wanted to loop it around his neck and put this rabid dog on a leash. His other hand clamped down heavily on my waist. Pure, aggressive possession.
I pushed against his solid chest. "Hold on. I have something to say." Before I could finish, he bit down hard on my earlobe. "Weren't you acting so tough before, Miss Stanton?
Is this all you've got? And you dare claim you are here to seduce me." "You are the absolute worst I have ever seen." I gasped. This petty, vindictive dog.
As if I was going to take that lying down. I threw my arms around his neck, buried my face in his chest, and bit down hard on his collarbone. A heavy knock hammered on the door.
Reality crashed back down on me. The housekeeper's hesitant voice drifted through the heavy wood. "Young Mr. Vance… the Stantons are here." We went downstairs.
Seeing the frantic, worried looks in my parents' eyes in the living room actually moved me. My dad rushed forward, his voice trembling slightly. "Dominic.
I am here to take my daughter home." "She is wild and stubborn. If she has offended you, I sincerely apologize." Dominic was still wearing that same black bathrobe.
His skin was pale. He deliberately tugged the collar down, exposing the dark, intimate bite mark on his collarbone. My dad froze.
Dominic let out a low, breathless laugh. "Pip is very cute.
Just a moment ago, she even confessed her feelings for me." I forced my lips to stay in a smile while I reached around and pinched his waist as hard as I could.
His face didn't change at all. He just reached down and boldly trapped my hand in his.
He looked down at me, his brows pulling together in a perfect act of concern. "Pip, I told you I would take you home earlier, but you insisted on staying." "See?
You made your parents worry. I feel terrible." [Me: ?] Before I could even open my mouth to explain. Chapter 7
