"No, no more." I shoved Julian away just as his lips brushed mine. I scrambled to button my shirt all the way to my collar.
The floating comments appearing before my eyes sent me into a blind panic. I was his exwife? I was going to be kicked out?
Just because all I did was spend his money and beg him for sex, he ended up falling in love with the female lead instead? Julian was dropdead gorgeous and amazing in bed.
He didn't have a shred of feelings for me. But that never stopped me from dragging him into a new roleplay scenario every single night.
And my twisted hobbies were the reason he preferred working late over coming home to me? Okay. I get it. Chapter 1 Julian froze.
He frowned slightly when he saw my death grip on my collar. He was probably trying to guess what new game I was playing. His long fingers rested casually against my calf.
His palm was burning hot. I flinched as the heat seeped through my skin. Julian's dark eyes darkened. He seemed to figure something out. He adjusted his goldrimmed glasses.
His voice dropped to a serious, low rumble. "Miss, I need you to cooperate with this examination." I stared at him. Today's roleplay was a doctor. He wore a pristine white lab coat.
His slender fingers toyed with a stethoscope. Paired with his careless expression, he looked exactly like a hot villain in a suit. I swallowed hard.
Normally, I would have thrown myself at him by now. But the floating comments flashed in my mind.
I squeezed my eyes shut and fought the urge. "I mean it," I said. "We aren't playing tonight." Julian took off his glasses. He looked confused. "Why not?" he asked.
I forced a dry laugh. "You work so hard at the company," I said. "You should get some rest." He stared at me with those dark eyes for a long moment.
Then he stood up abruptly and walked to the bathroom. The distance between us grew. My chest felt strangely hollow. He didn't even bother to say a word.
He was clearly sick of me. [If the male lead doesn't leave now, his entire sophisticated persona is going to selfdestruct!] [Why is the exwife acting so different today?
Doesn't she usually jump him by now?] [What is she complaining about this time? She wants it, then she doesn't. She is so hard to please.] [She is such a bitch.
She guilttripped him into marriage just because she saved his mom. If it wasn't for her, the male and female leads would have been together ages ago!] I stared at those words.
A cold knot formed in my stomach. It was true. I really did guilttrip Julian into marrying me. His mother had collapsed on the street one day.
I performed CPR and got her to the hospital in time to save her life. Julian tracked me down and asked what I wanted as a reward. I looked at that insanely handsome face.
Somehow, I blurted out, "I want to marry you." Julian froze. He looked me up and down. To my shock, he agreed.
I found out later that his mother had been pressuring him to settle down. She liked me. So he just went with the flow and married me.
I knew perfectly well this was just a marriage of convenience. He had no feelings for me. He even promised I could leave whenever I wanted. Damn it.
Did I only do this to become a rich wife? Well, maybe a little. But mostly I just wanted his perfect face and incredible body. I had always been a sucker for a pretty face.
Chapter 2 But he ended up sleeping in a separate room. He left early and came home late. We lived completely separate lives. I paced around my room in a sheer nightgown.
I was so desperate I considered slipping something into his drink. Until one night. I scrolled past a local Reddit thread. [Him: My wife took great care of my mother.
She does not want jewelry or designer bags. How should I thank her?] The location tag showed it was less than 0.1 miles away. My eyes widened. He posted this from inside the house.
Obviously, it was Julian. The top comment had hundreds of likes. [Commenter: Repay a favor tenfold.
Give it to her all at once, and you won't owe her a thing!] [Julian: ?] I spent the entire night reading through the wild comment section. My face burned.
By the next day, I was getting all hot and bothered. Julian actually came home early that afternoon. He sat on the couch, scrolling on his tablet.
I poured myself a cup of chamomile tea. I casually poured one for him too. He took the cup in silence.
Then a slow smile spread across his face. "Do I look like I need help relieving the tension?" he asked. I froze. I opened my mouth to explain. Julian's gaze drifted down.
His eyes slowly traced the lines of my pale purple silk nightgown. His Adam's apple bobbed.
His voice dropped to a husky whisper. "Actually, maybe I do." He pulled me down onto the bed. My head spun. Thank God for those horny internet strangers. I finally got a taste.
After that, I made it my mission to coax Julian into trying new things. Besides the bedroom roleplay uniforms, I used his money to buy him a ton of cozy, domestic loungewear.
On weekends, he sometimes wore them while cooking. He stood by the stove with one hand in his pocket, flipping steaks with the other.
He looked like he walked straight out of a magazine. It perfectly fed my obsession. I could never resist dragging him onto the kitchen island.
By the time we finished, the steaks were always stone cold. I thought we would live happily and intimately ever after. I never expected him to have his own destined female lead.
And I was just the exwife about to be kicked out! I stayed awake all night. I made a firm decision. For my remaining days here, I had to behave.
I could not afford to annoy Julian any further. I refused to walk away without a single cent. Julian was still home when I woke up.
His gaze landed on the dark circles under my eyes. He frowned slightly. "You didn't sleep well," he said. "Is it because last night we didn't…" I choked on my water.
I coughed and waved my hands wildly. "No, no," I said. "I just woke up too early." Back when I was most obsessed with him, I used to whine that I could not sleep unless we did it.
I used that excuse to keep him up half the night. Julian did not push the subject. He stood up and walked toward the front door. "I have a meeting tonight.
I will be home late," he said. "Do not wait up for me. Go to sleep." [The male lead gets to be alone with the female lead again! Yes!] [I am so excited.
This is when they start falling for each other.
Every time they make eye contact, it is electric.] [Ugh, the exwife is definitely going to throw a fit when she hears he is working late.
So annoying.] If this was before, I would have pouted and complained. I would have wrapped myself around his waist and kissed him breathless before letting him leave.
I would have demanded he make it up to me in uniform later. But now, I had to learn how to sleep alone. I forced an understanding smile. "Okay," I said. "Hurry up.
Do not be late." Julian stopped in his tracks. He turned slowly and looked back at me. A deep, probing intensity flickered in his dark eyes.
Chapter 3 "Maya, are you… in a bad mood today?" I shook my head. "No. I am in a great mood." He pressed his lips together. His expression was impossible to read.
He gave me one last, deep look before opening the door and leaving. Julian came home late, just as expected. I was halfasleep when I felt something pressing against my waist.
Hot breath brushed against my neck, over and over. "Maya…" I opened my mouth on instinct. My legs tangled around his waist. His lips were warm.
The haze of desire was thick, but then reality slammed into me. I shoved him away. Julian froze. In the dark, only the faint gleam of his eyes was visible.
A heavy, dark storm seemed to brew in them. I scrambled for an excuse. "Sorry. You startled me." "It is late.
Let's just go to sleep." Julian took a few deep breaths and steadied himself. He patted my head. "Go to sleep. I am taking a shower." He got up and went to the guest bathroom.
He never came back to bed. The next day, Julian did not go to work. He sat on the couch reading documents. He wore the loungewear I bought for him.
A loose white tshirt under a black cardigan. He looked relaxed but effortlessly expensive. Normally, I would have thrown myself into his arms.
I would have praised him and asked whose handsome husband he was. But the floating comments had warned me. He hated these clothes.
He only forced himself to wear them because I bought them. So I took one look and looked away.
Julian called out to me. "Maya, where did you put the uniforms?" I stopped in my tracks. "Oh. I threw them out. I got bored of them anyway." "Bored?" The air in the room froze.
Julian stood up and walked toward his room. "Suit yourself," he scoffed, the words dropping like ice. [Thank God!
The male lead finally doesn't have to force himself to play those trashy games with his exwife!] [But why does he look so mad?
His face is literally thunderous right now.] [You're seeing things. He is obviously relieved.] [Exactly.
Now that he is falling for the female lead, he will never touch the exwife again.] Julian left for the office that afternoon.
I wanted to text him and ask if he was coming home for dinner. But the floating comments said he was already on a business trip with Naomi. I deleted my drafted message.
I scrolled up. The entire chat history was just me doubletexting him. [Me: Julian, hurry home. I am scared of the dark…] [Me: I want steak tonight.
Cook for me!] [Me: Guess what uniform I am wearing today?] Julian always replied with one or two words. Looking back, he was definitely annoyed by me.
Sure enough, my phone buzzed a moment later. [Him: On a business trip for a few days. Will bring you a gift.] I replied with a simple thank you sticker.
I took advantage of his absence to pack up all the designer bags and jewelry he had bought me. It was a massive pile. They would sell for a lot of money. I let out a sigh of relief.
After marrying Julian, I went back to living the high life. I was always a bit lazy, so naturally, I quit my job immediately.
But my family's bankruptcy had taught me a brutal lesson. I did not have to work, but I needed a safety net. Over the years, I learned how to invest in funds and stocks.
I actually made a decent amount of money. Just in case he really kicked me out without a single cent. Chapter 4 These would be enough to last me a long time.
The day Julian's business trip ended, the floating comments went wild. [Finally!
The major turning point for the male and female leads' relationship!] [The female lead sprained her ankle, and the male lead brought her home.
The exwife threw a massive tantrum and completely destroyed whatever tiny bit of affection he had left for her.] [Hehe, she is going to be kicked out so soon.
I can't wait!] A violent shudder ripped through me. I scrambled to move all my packed bags and boxes out of the house. Thank God I had already rented an apartment.
It wasn't too much of a hassle. I was being so tactful and reading the room. Julian couldn't possibly be completely heartless to me, right?
That night, a message from Julian popped up on my phone. [Him: Where are you?] Just three words. But a suffocating weight pressed down on my chest.
I weighed my options for a moment before typing back. [Me: I am on a trip. I will be back in a couple of days. I have something to tell you then.] Julian did not reply.
I let out a heavy sigh. Taking the initiative to ask for a divorce was better than being thrown out. I tossed my phone aside, pulled my sleep mask down, and tried to sleep.
A few seconds later, the screen lit up again. A notification for a local Reddit thread popped up: [My wife seems to be seeing someone on the side.
She even gave my clothes to the other man. How do I convince her to return to our family?] A blaring ringtone jolted me awake. I glanced at the time. It was already afternoon
