Picking up a werewolf was entirely accidental.

Initially, I thought I’d found an ordinary dog.

But on the third day after bringing it home, I was astonished to discover it had transformed into a man!

He lay there casually on my sofa, leaning against a pillow, eating potato chips, and watching TV.

Whenever he saw something funny on TV, his furry tail would wag excitedly.

I had to take several deep breaths to calm myself down.

Later, with an expression of "You're so ignorant," he explained the species of werewolves to me.

Only then did I learn that they were a naturally occurring evolved species.

Incredible!

I couldn't help but tug at his ear and ask, "So, can you eat dog food?"

"Hey, don't touch my ears!" he yelled, his cheeks reddening as he took a step back.

Then he answered seriously:

"Listen, I need to eat meat, not dog food. I'm not some inferior creature that fawns and grovels for humans, like a dog."

I could only say, "..."

Oh my god, it seems keeping this guy isn't going to be easy.

02

On a pitchblack night three months after I took in the werewolf, he ran away.

Before leaving, he warned me with a fierce expression:

"Listen, human. We werewolves have only one mate for their entire lives. I already have my beloved, and I will absolutely not accept you as my mate!"

WTF?

I'd been treating him as a pet.

What does that have to do with being a mate?

03

The werewolf's departure left me utterly bewildered.

I pondered for a long time but couldn't understand his behavior, so I decided to stop worrying about it.

The following days passed peacefully.

Until two weeks later, a business partner invited me to a café to discuss a project.

I went there with my laptop.

During our conversation, I unexpectedly saw the werewolf.

He appeared in human form, tall and imposing, dressed in a suit, his gaze cold.

He leaned against the railing, impatiently looking down at the crowd below.

"Emma, do you know Owen Harrington?"

My business partner, noticing my gaze, asked expectantly.

Owen Harrington is a major shareholder at Evergreen Marketing Group.

I chose this location because I know he frequents it.

"Perhaps you could introduce us?"

I was momentarily stunned, then realized he was referring to that werewolf.

I shook my head and replied, "Sorry, I don't know him. I just thought he looks handsome."

My business partner sighed, unable to hide his disappointment, and his attitude towards me grew colder.

I didn't mind and continued explaining the project.

When we got up to leave, I saw the werewolf tilting his head while talking to a welldressed urban woman.

They were standing very close, almost overlapping, like a man holding a woman in his arms, perhaps even kissing.

I looked away without feeling a thing.

On my way home, I passed by a pet hospital and saw a large dog displayed in the window.

It was a yellow Labrador.

I placed my hand on the glass, and it happened to look up at me, grinning and raising its paw to meet my palm through the glass.

In that moment, I made a decision.

I will buy it!

04

Oh, heaven, raising a dog is so much more comfortable than having a werewolf around.

This adorable little creature can't talk, loves dog food, and is very wellbehaved.

When I'm not home, it always lounges lazily on the carpet, waiting for me to come back and take it for a walk.

I've taken it to many places.

The beach, ocean park, seal exhibit...

anywhere you can think of, we've been there.

One day, when I went to a coffee shop to buy coffee, the staff said no dogs were allowed.

So I tied it up at the door and seriously told it to behave.

Just then, two people suddenly appeared beside me.

It was the werewolf and the woman who seemed close to him the other day.

The woman mocked as she stared at the Labrador's wagging tail, "Look at these dogs, always fawning, groveling to humans.

What a disgrace to the canine family."

The werewolf beside her had a dark, terrifying gaze fixed on me.

But I didn't care about them at all.

I gently patted the Labrador's head and softly said, "Good baby, be good.

Mommy will make you beef balls tonight."

With that, I got up and walked past the two, not giving them another glance.

05

When I came out of the coffee shop, my dog was gone.

The dog leash that should have been tied was undone, and both the dog and the leash were nowhere to be found.

My movements froze instantly.

The werewolf was standing at the door, smoking.

Seeing this, he showed a contemptuous yet excited expression and said, "Look, it abandoned you.

"How could such a foolish creature possibly remain loyal to its owner?"

A wolf that smokes?

I left there in disgust.

Calling out my dog's name while searching and asking passersby if they'd seen a yellow Labrador.

After walking nearly a mile without finding it, I started feeling anxious and uneasy.

Just as I was about to call the animal protection agency for help, an annoying voice came from beside me again.

"Lost it, then lost it. What is there worth finding in that stupid dog?

It can't even use its nose to find its owner, truly a disgrace to the canine family.

What's so good about it? It's yellow and looks like a clump of human excrement.

Don't adopt dogs casually; canine animals have a strong sense of possession..."

I couldn't take it anymore.

Suppressing my anger, I said sharply, "What's your problem?"

He paused for a moment, then incredulously said,

"You're actually getting mad at me over that stupid dog? You've only had it for two weeks, and you're getting mad at me because of it. What's next, are you going to let it bite me... How can you treat me like this?"

He looked deeply hurt.

He was so aggrieved he was almost about to cry, his originally slender wolf eyes opened wide, faintly tinged with red.

And I completely didn't understand his behavior.

Confused, I said, "It's my dog; of course, I would protect it...and you said there's nothing between us anymore."

I scrutinized him for a while, noticing he was wearing a highend custom suit, so I extended my hand and said,

"Seems like you're doing well in human society. Pay me back for the meat I fed you before. I need to buy toys for the dog."

"You, you!"

He looked about to explode with anger, stammering,

"What does a dumb dog need toys for..."

"Owen!"

Suddenly, a voice interrupted him from across the street.

"Mr. Harrington!" the person called out.

The person excitedly ran across the road, eyes sparkling as they looked at him.

I recognized it was the business partner I had seen before.

He turned to me, with an attitude completely different from the last time we met, becoming exceedingly enthusiastic.

"Oh, Emma!" he said eagerly, "Why didn't you tell me earlier that you know Mr.Harrington? Regarding that project, we can sign the contract immediately! I'll have the legal department draft the contract right now."

He continued, "If I'd known sooner about your relationship with Mr.

Harrington, we wouldn't have delayed so long, right?"

I sighed internally: "..."

Not only did I lose the dog, but now I have to work overtime on my day off.

Damn wolf!

I forced a smile and, when the client wasn't looking, turned to glare fiercely at the werewolf.

His expression looked even more innocent and aggrieved, those big eyes brimming with tears, as if they were about to fall any second.

06

After the contract was signed, it was already seven in the evening.

Exhausted, I walked out of the company door and saw a man and a dog confronting each other.

The yellow Labrador was tense all over, its paws scraping the ground, growling low in warning at the dangerous entity exuding "wolf" aura.

Meanwhile, the werewolf was casually crossing his arms, looking disdainful, muttering words I couldn't understand.

...Was he communicating with the dog?

Can dogs understand the language of wolves?

I was somewhat incredulous.

After observing from a distance for a while, I walked up to gently stroke the dog's head.

I comforted it, saying, "Don't be angry, baby, Mommy's back."

The werewolf was silent for a moment, then came over and crouched by my side, lowering his head.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I want to be petted too." He leaned his head forward: "I'm also cared for by you, you can't just pet it and not me." I felt a bit speechless.

From my partner, I had just learned his identity.

Owen Harrington.

The youngest son of the Harrington family, a shareholder of the largest domestic semiconductor manufacturer, considered one of the top figures in wealth and power.

How could he be such a shameless wolf...

I stood up and coldly asked him, "Did you steal my dog?"

"I didn't steal." He stammered, "The dog leash was too loose, I lightly tugged and it came off, the dog followed the Ham by itself, I couldn't help it..."

I quietly looked at him, saying nothing.

He bit his lip, "Okay, I was wrong."

He seemed dejected: "You treat it too well, petting its head, buying it toys, even kissing it, I got jealous.

"Clearly, in the past, I was the only wolf you cared for."

"Didn't you yourself say you had a beloved, that there was nothing between us anymore, and I shouldn't harbor any fantasies about you? "

"Is that secretary today the werewolf you desire?"

I questioned him emotionlessly: "You like her yet come to tease me, is this what you call loyalty?"

"I've absolutely been loyal! That werewolf is my biological sister, we were born of the same mother."

He explained urgently: "It was you who had intimate contact with other males, which angered me and led to those hurtful words.”

"We werewolves have only one mate for life, unlike you purebred humans, heartless, so unfaithful..."

His voice grew
