[ "Stop kissing him! Your mission was to seduce the male lead!
You literally slept with his psycho twin brother!" The System had a complete meltdown inside my skull. ] I had just tricked this ruthless billionaire heir into my bed, wrecked by his heavy weight pinning me down all night.
My body locked up. A deafening roar rushed through my ears. "Are you telling me Cassius isn't the male lead?!" Later. The hotel suite. Two identical faces.
One in front, one behind. "You've got some serious nerve." Cassius crushed his cigarette, his thumb slowly dragging across the bare skin of my thigh. "What?
You want both of us?" Chapter 1 "Wait a damn minute!" My body went rigid.
Static exploded behind my eyes. "Are you telling me Cassius isn't the male lead?!" [ "Yep!" The System chirped. "Your actual target is Cassius's twin brother, Milo." ] No wonder his affection meter hadn't budged a single inch!
I gritted my teeth. "Why the hell didn't you tell me sooner?
I'm reporting you to the System Bureau for gross negligence!" "You're awake." Cassius's voice was rough, wrecked from sleep. A heavy, warm palm slipped around my waist from behind.
His fingers squeezed the soft flesh. I shot up. My back pulled sharply away from his touch. His long, elegant fingers froze in midair.
Those thick lashes fluttered, masking a fleeting shadow before his gaze locked onto mine. His eyes were dark, damp, and the edges were still flushed a deep red.
Last night, I forced him to admit he was my exclusive pet. He spent half the night panting with redrimmed eyes.
But who could have guessed that I'd be the one pinned hard against the headboard, sobbing and begging for mercy by the end of it! Yet, the man acted deaf to those pleas.
I wanted to shove a hearing aid down his throat. There was no way in hell I would ever admit I passed out because Cassius broke me. He pulled his hand back.
His shoulders dropped like a miserable puppy kicked by its owner. "Are you mad at me? I'm sorry.
I'll listen to you next time." [ "Tsk." The System's tone dripped with sarcasm. "Filing a complaint against me when you were clearly enjoying every second of it." ] [ "I don't know who was preaching the other day that a man's tears are the ultimate aphrodisiac.
Looks like you got high on your own supply." ] I wanted the floor to swallow me whole. But this wasn't my fault. What woman on earth could resist the ultimate contrast of Cassius?
A man who looked down on the world in bespoke suits by day, yet was forced into choked whimpers and deep groans in my bed! Then, the panic hit. Cold sweat prickled my spine.
Cassius was the untouchable elite. Coldblooded. Ruthless. He despised liars more than anything breathing. When I first transmigrated into this world, my plan was flawless.
Exploit his amnesia, max out his affection, grab the ten million dollar bounty, and fake my death to escape.
But who the hell could have predicted there were two identical billionaire heirs?
Who would have thought that while we were tangling like crazy in bed last night, I'd wake up facing an actual assassination risk?
The deadliest part was that I treated him like a lackey I could boss around!
With the control freak nature of a toptier tycoon, the second he regained his memory, he would tear me to shreds. I forced my heart rate down. Inhale. Exhale.
Cassius was an amnesiac, not a moron. Any sudden shift in my behavior, and he would instantly smell blood in the water. My pulse hammered against my ribs, but I straddled his lap.
I hooked my arms around his neck and crushed my mouth against his. [ "Host, friendly reminder." The System couldn't watch. "You're running out of time." ] [ "The actual male lead is about to return to the States.
Please prepare to follow the main questline. Good luck surviving this mess~" ] Wait a damn minute!
Returning to the States?! "Where is Milo right now?" [ "London." ] "Get me a flight to London. Now." Cassius was still missing his memories. I just had to keep playing the part.
I could fly out, conquer Milo, snatch my cash, and fake my own death before everything blew up in my face. Even if Cassius got his memory back, his tycoon status wouldn't mean shit.
You can't exact revenge on a corpse! God, I was a genius. Ten million dollars, here I come!
I shifted my gaze, tightening my arms around Cassius's neck. "Cassius, I got a call from my mom yesterday." I locked down the wild excitement in my chest, forcing my brows to pull together in perfect distress. "She's sick in London.
I need to go see her." As a transmigrator, I didn't even have a mother in this universe. Lying my way out of the country was the ultimate insurance policy.
Chapter 2 "Your mom?" Cassius stiffened. "Alright. I'll go with you." "No!" I scrambled to cover my tracks. "She's… she's got a really difficult personality.
And I haven't exactly told her about us yet. Plus, you're still recovering from the car crash.
A longhaul flight across the Atlantic will completely wreck your body." Cassius stared at me.
An unreadable, dark undercurrent swirled in his eyes. "Cassius—" A sharp ringtone cut through the air, slicing my sentence in half. Cassius glanced at me.
With a slight flick of his wrist, he angled the screen away from my line of sight and answered the call. I exhaled a shaky breath.
The System had just confirmed my flight was booked. To avoid any more complications, I needed to get the hell out of dodge.
I dragged my suitcase out and crouched on the floor, frantically tossing clothes inside. Suddenly, an indescribable sense of wrongness crawled up my spine. My back turned icecold.
A broad shadow eclipsed the light, severing my escape route. I whipped my head around. Cassius stood less than two feet away, the phone pressed to his ear.
His features were locked in frost. My chest tightened. That phone call… that hollow stare… Did he remember? Cassius dropped the phone from his ear and ended the call.
He closed the distance, his tone suddenly dropping into a sickeningly sweet, needy register. "Are you sure you don't need me to go to London with you?" My heart dropped back into my chest.
Thank God. He was still clueless. I hooked my arms around his neck. "My good boy just needs to guard the house.
I promise I'll be back before you know it, okay?" Cassius just stared at me. Dead silent. He didn't let go.
Instead, he slammed me hard against the wall, lowered his head, and sank his teeth viciously into my shoulder.
I flinched from the sharp pain. "Are you insane?!" "Did you know?" His hot breath ghosted over the sensitive skin of my ear, his voice dark and gravelly. "Dogs are actually extremely territorial.
They only let themselves mark their own masters." My brain was mush. "What are you talking a—" The rest of my sentence was swallowed raw.
Cassius gripped the back of my head in a vice, crushing his lips against mine in a punishing, worldtilting kiss.
He didn't stop until a very hard, very distinct heat pressed flush against the junction of my thighs.
He finally pulled back, his lips slick and bruised. "Can we?" All night last night, and now he wanted round two this morning?
Since when did Cassius possess the stamina of a feral hound in heat? Lusting over a dangerous man was a oneway ticket to selfdestruction.
But with a masterpiece like this serving himself up on a silver platter, I'd be an absolute fool to say no. The ceiling lights fractured into a million blinding pieces above me.
Then, Cassius abruptly stopped moving. "Eden. I want a gift." The sudden loss of friction left me aching and empty.
My brain was mush. "Want… what?" "You're going to London—" Cassius buried his face into the crook of my neck.
A predatory darkness surged in his eyes. "A gift from London, obviously." My timing was perfect. Milo was studying art in London.
Now that he was in a sudden rush to head back to the States, he had a massive stockpile of paintings he needed to liquidate.
But it seemed his family had deliberately kept him in the dark about Cassius's car crash and disappearance. [ The System forged me a bulletproof alias as a highend gallery director, allowing me to sink my hooks into Milo under the guise of a charity exhibition. ] They shared the exact same face, but compared to Cassius's lethal frost, Milo was the epitome of pure, untainted innocence.
Friday. I met up with Milo to buy out his collection.
He carefully packed the canvases into a sleek wooden crate and handed it over. "Thank you for loving my art, Eden." Even though both twins were younger than me, Cassius had never once acknowledged the age gap.
Milo smelled like a faint blend of sea salt and crushed citrus. It was intoxicating.
I went up on my tiptoes, deliberately closing the physical distance between us until we were breathing the exact same air. I let out a soft, defeated sigh. "I'm such a failure.
I've been chasing you this whole time, and you actually think I'm just here for the paintings." Little did he know, from anyone else's angle, this exact posture made it look like I was practically begging him to kiss me.
Chapter 3 Milo froze. His gaze frantically darted away, a deep crimson flushing the tips of his ears. During dinner, I asked Milo to tie my hair back.
His fingers combed clumsily through my strands.
I let out a soft hiss. "Ow." He yanked his hands back like he'd been burned. "DDone." I tilted my head, throwing him a teasing smile. "So clumsy.
Never tied your girlfriend's hair before?" Milo stared at his lap.
The flush crept all the way down his neck. "I've never had a girlfriend." I just smiled and went back to my food, but the weight of his stare burned into my skin.
My tenmilliondollar jackpot was swallowing the bait. "Eden, I have a basketball game on Sunday. Can you come?" I turned. Our eyes locked.
Milo’s ears burned red as he scrambled to look anywhere else. "Hmm…" I dragged the syllable out, deliberately stringing him along. "Sure." Shock flickered in his eyes. "Really?
You mean it?" Of course I meant it. That was my ten million dollars talking. Milo looked leaner than Cassius in regular clothes.
But the second he yanked his jersey up to wipe his sweat, the tight, sculpted lines of his muscles were on full display.
I sat in the front row, blatantly staring at his solid pecs and that perfect eightpack.
I couldn't help but marvel at how the genetics of toptier billionaire families were so superior it practically made my mouth water. At halftime, Milo jogged over.
He crouched directly in front of me, looking exactly like a happy golden retriever waiting for its owner's praise. "I played pretty well, right?" "Yeah.
Your abs look great." Milo stared up at me. The tips of his ears practically glowed red. He dragged his tongue over his bottom lip. "Eden, I—" A harsh ringtone shattered the moment.
I fished my phone out of my bag. My pulse kicked. Milo leaned in, his gaze dropping toward the noise. Two massive words glared back at me from the caller ID—Cassius.
I slapped the screen facedown and bolted from the bleachers. My heart battered my ribs. Milo looked up at me, his eyes entirely innocent. "What's wrong?" Thank God.
He didn't see it. If Milo ever found out I was tangled up with Cassius, one background check would blow my cover and sign my death warrant! The phone kept vibrating against my palm.
I forced my breathing steady. "Nothing. Just my mom calling. Let me grab this." Milo nodded.
I jogged all the way out of the gym, not hitting 'accept' until the thud of basketballs completely faded. "Hey, what's up?" On the other end of the line, Cassius's breathing hitched.
It sounded like he was suppressing something ugly. "What are you doing?" I controlled my lungs, still slightly breathless from the run. "Nothing much.
Just taking a walk with my mom." Cassius's voice dropped a few degrees. "How is she doing?" "She's fine." I paused, forcing a light, teasing laugh. "What? Miss me already?" "Yeah.
When are you coming back?" Milo's affection meter was filling up shockingly fast. He was already at 60%.
I looked down, kicking a loose pebble by my shoe. "The doctor says she's still unstable. It'll probably be another month or tw— Ah!
Shit!" A stray basketball slammed directly into the side of my head. I hissed in pain. Who the hell was throwing balls blindly? Wait. Why did Cassius just hang up?
At dinner that night, I knocked back a few drinks. Milo assumed I was drunk and insisted on walking me back to the hotel. His hand hovered nervously inches from my waist.
Terrified I would trip, but too scared to actually touch me. "Milo, why is your face so red? Are you feeling sick?" I asked, knowing damn well what I was doing.
I pressed the back of my hand flat against his forehead. Calculated physical contact was the ultimate weapon for a successful seduction.
Chapter 4 Just as I expected, Milo's face flushed even darker.
The red washed all the way down his neck. "IIt's a little hot." Milo looked away, steadying my shoulders so I stood straight.
His voice was barely a whisper. "We're here, Eden." God, he was so fucking pure!
I stood up straight, a sudden urge to tease him bubbling up. "Hot?" I tilted my head to look at him, swiping my keycard against the lock. "Do you want to come inside and get a glass of water?" The lock beeped green.
My fingers barely grazed the handle before it moved. The door pulled open from the inside. His brother? My heart launched into my throat.
Before I could process what was happening, a massive hand grabbed me and yanked me into the darkness of the room. The door slammed shut.
His heavy thigh wedged between my legs, pinning me against the wood. The freezing, solid door dug painfully into my spine.
Outside, Milo started pounding on the door. "Cassius, what the hell are you doing?! Open the door!" "London? Visiting your mom?" Cassius stared me down.
The fingers digging into my shoulders squeezed so hard they felt like they were going to shatter my collarbone.
Cold sweat slicked my palms. "Cassius, listen to me—" He grabbed the collar of my shirt and ripped it down, exposing the bare skin of my chest. "Did you sleep with him?" Cassius clamped his hand around my jaw in a death grip, roughly forcing my lips apart.
His tongue pushed inside with punishing intent. The kiss drained every ounce of strength from my legs, turning my brain to static. I clung to him, weak. Cassius stared at me.
His narrowed, pitchblack eyes felt like a massive net closing in to swallow me alive. "Did he make you feel good?" I froze.
I had to have heard that wrong. "What?" "Who made you feel better? Him, or me?" Outside, Milo was still banging on the door, shouting my name.
My brain was a tangled mess of blown fuses. I literally couldn't think. "Makes sense." Cassius let out a dark scoff. "We're twins.
Doing it one at a time, of course you wouldn't feel the difference." Behind me, the door handle rattled. I slammed my hands over Cassius's wrists.
My heart battered against my ribs. "What are you doing?" "Fucking you, obviously, baby." Cassius leaned in, his hot, damp breath scalding the shell of my ear. "But my little brother is out there so worried about you, and you like him so much.
Doesn't that mean I should step up and be a generous older brother?" Cassius paused, his thumb rubbing roughly over my swollen lips. "Should I let him in so we can do this together?
Baby
